Q2. What documents are needed for a legal name change?
You usually need ID proof (Aadhaar, Passport, PAN), address proof, passport photos, an affidavit, and proof of newspaper or Gazette publication. The exact requirements may change from state to state.

Q3. How long does the name change process take?
It normally takes 2–6 weeks for Gazette publication. Affidavit and newspaper ads are faster. Updates on IDs like passport or PAN depend on the issuing department.
